Yvette first picked up a paintbrush in 2004 after she retired as a filmmaker.

She attended Putney School of Art & Design - an adult college which has been serving the community in South London for over 100 years. She had the good fortune to be taught by artist, Gavin Maughling, and from small, albeit bold beginnings, has taken up painting almost full time.

That's alongside writing and editing, reading (in The Bolingbroke Book Club [BBC!] for over 15 years) and singing (in the Festival Chorus, Clapham for over 16 years) and maintaining an interest in all things political...

Yvette enjoys time and travel with Michael, sharing the burgeoning lives of her immensely talented, beat poet son, Freddy (see him on www.myspace.com/homegrownsounds), five creative adult step children and now five grandchildren... it's a full life.
